The cute children’s picture book “Chewie and the Porgs” by author Kevin Shinick and illustrator Fiona Hsieh is finally scheduled for release in Japanese in Japan! The book is avaliable for preorder in Japan now for 1,674 yen and comes out on Friday, April 27th 2018. See Disney’s news page for more information.
The Japanese title of the book is “チューバッカとポーグ” (Chewbacca and the Porgs), using Chewie’s full name for the title.
All the main story text has been translated into Japanese. But looking at the preview artwork online, it looks like they left many of the sound effects in English with just small Japanese translations.
Chewbacca fans in Japan or learning Japanese can look forward to this release in Japan just in time for Solo: A Star Wars Story.
